What to look for.

  • Leaf discoloration-yellow, browning, or spots on the leaves.

  • Bark damage-cracks, peeling, or unusual growth.

  • Wilting or drooping - leaves or branches

  • Fungal growth - mushrooms or fungi at the base or in the trunk

  • Sap oozing - excessive sap or resin leaking from wounds or cracks.

    In Michigan, common tree diseases include Dutch Elm Disease, Oak Wilt, Powdery Mildew, and Canker Diseases.
